German 1941 Afrika Korp

Set of miniatures in the carry box. I think I'm going to ditcht he box, as it's not a great way to carry the vehicles, and doesn't have space for the infantry.

An unpainted APC, for scale. The miniatures get glued to safety pins so I have something to hold on to while painting.

Same APC, at various stages of painting.

The painting stand I rigged up when I realised that the seams of a cardboard cellphone box wouldn't cut it for holding them.

Individual infantry pieces. Rifleman, heavy machine gun team, medium machine gunner.

Motorcycle. These were possibly the most fun to do.

Mk III Panzer tank

Mk IV Panzer tank

Transport truck. I'm especially happy witht he windshield wipers.

British officer.

Basing the Troops

Some based infantry. I'm not happy with any aspect of the basing, from colour to number and position of minuatures, and this will get redone once the mat arrives and I can match the base colour to the mat. But this is a basic indicator of what it'll look like in general.

And then the mats arrived, and I could move forward.

A German machine gunner on a base. The bases are 12mm × 20mm (½" × ¾"), and in game terms represent an area about the size of a football field.

A platoon of British infantry, before and after adding the gravel effect.
